The Good.
So many good things to say about this unit. It does fit perfect into the cavity of the removed factory navigation system. If you didn't have the nav system, then there is an extra bracket you will need to buy for the install. I bought mine for $60 USD, off eBay as I recall. The bracket fit perfectly, and this unit fit perfectly into the bracket.
There are many many configuration switches and choices. So many, it's often difficult to remember which ones are under which menu. After 3 years, I'm stil finding new switches and options I haven't tried yet, and that's just fun.
The Not So Good
One of my biggest gripes about this unit is that the O/S is locked. It's an Andriod 10 unit, but it's not possible to do dynamic security updates yourself. You have to depend on Avin support, which imo, is crappy. Was good for the first few months but then got worse, and now I just despise it. My O/S is now over a year and a half old, and they claim it is still the most recent. The only thing that makes this even somewhat ok is that I'm almost never on WiFi/Internet, so it's in very little danger of getting hacked.
More to come...
